It is said that the old Seward kitchen was one of the most popular stations of the Underground Railroad, and that many a poor slave who fled by this route to Canada carried to his grave the remembrance of its warmth and cheer.

General Info
- A guided tour is the only way to see the Museum.
- Tour availability is subject to change. Sometimes we reach capacity due to large pre-scheduled groups.

- The Museum is a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active-duty military and their families. This program runs from Armed Forces Day (May 18th) through Labor Day (September 2nd).

Hours
- Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm with tours running on the hour.
- The Museum is also open on Sundays from 1pm-5pm June through September.
- The Museum is closed January through February.
Parking
- There is no on-site parking at the Museum. Primary parking for the Museum is available at the Lincoln Street Parking Garage and additional parking can be found on Grover Street and William Street.
- Accessible entrances to the property include the gates at the Equal Rights Heritage Center and the 33 South Street sidewalk at the front of the house.
