Specialty Tour: Death Rites and Victorian Mourning Culture

Learn about the bygone customs and symbols of death used by Victorian-era Americans, on this special nighttime tour of the Seward House. With war, disease, and high infant mortality rates, death was not an unusual visitor to the 1800s household. Victorians developed ways of coping that we may find strange today.
