My Dear Daughter

Seward family history comes to life as actors Jack Sherman and Maria Coleman perform an original dramatic reading. Portraying Mr. Seward and his beloved daughter Fanny during the tumult of the Civil War period, Sherman and Coleman draw on deep archival research (including letters transcribed for the first time) to recreate a loving father-daughter relationship. It was also one beset by extraordinary crisis. This evening program is ideal for all ages, with the Seward House providing an authentic backdrop and intimate setting to explore history at its most personal level. Admission is $10 for the public, free for members, and reservations are recommended.
