Lunchtime Lecture Series: Invisible Conductor: Frances Seward and 19th-Century Abolition

Jun 29th 2023 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Bring your lunch and enjoy a lecture at the Equal Rights Heritage Center as the SHM continues this popular series. Reflecting on Auburn’s citywide commemoration of Juneteenth, Dr. Shellie Clark shares her archival research into Frances Seward’s career as an “invisible conductor” on the Underground Railroad. Clark, who recently completed her PhD in History with a dissertation on Frances Seward, will also discuss her legacy within the abolitionist movement. This event is free and open to the public.
