I possess a partiality for irregular houses, when you go up and down steps, out of one room into another and when you come upon more rooms when you think you have seen all there are, and where then is a bountiful provision of little halls & passages, and where you find older rooms in unexpected places with lattice windows and green growth pressing through them.

Lazette Worden, older sister to Frances Seward, endured a difficult marriage, returned to Auburn, and built a home named “Pisgah” along the Underground Railroad. Shellie Clark Dolan, whose doctoral dissertation uncovered the careers of these remarkable women, shares more about Lazette’s legacy. This event will take place at the SHM Event Center (Barn) and is FREE and open to the public.
