Seward House Museum Welcomes Historic Carriage Home

An important piece of Seward family history has returned!

After more than two years away undergoing extensive conservation, William H. Seward's carriage has returned to Auburn and will be on public display in our newly renovated Carriage House. The Museum is delighted to welcome the carriage back, and we invite the community to be among the first to see this remarkable piece of Seward family history. Museum staff and guides will be on hand throughout the day to welcome visitors and share the history of the carriage, details of its extensive conservation, and the story of its return. The conservation project was made possible through the generous support of grants and donations, primarily from local foundations and supporters.

Admission to the SHM Carriage House is FREE.
