Lunchtime Lecture Series: William Seward’s Madisonian Roots

As a young man, William Seward described himself as a “Madisonian.” But what did the legacy of James Madison actually mean to Seward? How did he understand the contributions of this Founder and how did his thinking change and evolve? Public Historian and former SHM staff member Alyssa Morris will discuss Madison’s complicated legacy as part of the America 250 commemoration.
