It is said that the old Seward kitchen was one of the most popular stations of the Underground Railroad, and that many a poor slave who fled by this route to Canada carried to his grave the remembrance of its warmth and cheer.

General Info
- A guided tour is the only way to see the Museum. Tours begin at the top of the hour.

- Tour availability is subject to change. Sometimes we reach capacity due to large pre-scheduled groups.
- Advance reservations are available and advised. Visitors without pre-booked tickets will be admitted as capacity allows.
- When extreme heat causes unsafe conditions for visitors and volunteers, the second floor of the Museum will be closed. In the event of a closure due to heat, a partial refund will be issued upon request.
- Morning tours are often closed to the public due to large groups and field trips. To make sure your desired tour is available, please make a reservation in advance.

Hours
- Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- The Museum is also open on Sundays from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (June through September only).
- Tours run on the hour and the final tour of the day begins at 4:00 PM. Please see below for upcoming tour closures.
- The Museum is closed January through February and on most holidays.

- Friday, October 24th: The 10 AM, 11 AM, and 12 PM tours will be closed.
- Saturday, October 25th: The 4 PM tour will be closed.
- Tuesday, October 28th: The 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, and 4 PM tours will be closed.
- Wednesday, October 29th: The 4 PM tour will be closed.
Parking
- Up to ten cars can use the parking lot at the Museum. Overflow parking is availible at the Lincoln Street Parking Garage. For more info, visit the Directions and Parking page

- The Museum is a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active-duty military and their families. This program runs from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.
